I would like to be in a car with Dan Mangan :)
My favourite movies are always the ones with great atmosphere, amazing art direction, and realistic or at least interesting character development. Sometimes the action or plot isn’t as important as that. The Tree is a pretty good example. Things happen (the father dies, there’s a storm, etc) but all of it serves to showcase the characters and their reactions. It’s a movie entirely driven by its characters and I love that. It’s on Netflix, you should watch it. Also, the music was great.
Anyway Hemingway: Immovable Feast
I can only imagine
the city of lights,
midnights and rambles over
cobblestone, under street
lamps, exposed to
the curious eyes
of upper apartment
dwellers,
insomniacs,
addicts
with visions of
downy wings fluttering
in the wet air, weighed down
by the cares of decidedly unholy
beings.
I have never stood
in reverence of
masterpieces encouraged
by an ancient,
breathing city where
artists flourish in natural
environments:
cafes and parks and
the half bare
residences of their empty-
pocketed contemporaries.
I have studied only
and not yet experienced.
JGL photos from BlackBookMag. So adorable I had to make a wallpaper.
